Our survey is quick and very easy to complete. We're interested in what you think of the concept plan and through the survey if you would like to receive regular information updates.

The Riverwood North Urban Renewal Project will involve the creation of modern, architecturally designed housing in a vibrant community of approximately 650 new homes for social housing residents, as well as private owners, with a renewed emphasis on landscaped public spaces, green streets and the creation of a new Garden Square.

About Renewal Project

The Renewal Project involves the replacement of 150 older housing units with 150 modern social housing units for seniors, and approximately 500 affordable and privately owned units.

The aim of the project is to provide modern and safe accommodation which meets the needs of Housing NSW tenants and to introduce private affordable housing, as well as improved facilities and open space for residents.

The Project objectives are to:

create a livable integrated residential community
deliver quality residential apartments
create a strong sense of place and belonging
revitalise community open spaces and improve connectivity to community facilities
create new, clean, safe and welcoming environments

Project Vision

Payce is developing an exciting vision for a new and revitalised urban village as part of its new Masterplan for the site which allows for:

Quality designed apartment buildings
Improved public spaces and parks, including a new Garden Square
Improved and high quality urban character
Opportunity for development of new urban amenities and community facilities (e.g. Library)

Payce has appointed one of Australia’s leading and award winning architects, Turner + Associates, to develop and lead the design process.

Payce and NSW Housing are committed to making this project a benchmark for integrated social housing redevelopment and revitalisation.

Community feedback is important to this project.

The Riverwood community is invited to participate in the community consultation process to ensure that all factors of importance to the community are considered.

The following provides an overview about how you can obtain information about the project and participate in the consultation process:

A draft Concept Plan for the Renewal Project Site has been prepared. This Plan is available here.
A fact sheet about the project is also available on this site
Frequently Asked Questions – this provides answers to most of the commonly asked questions.
A Project Display is being held at the Riverwood Community Centre from 18 October 2010 for three weeks, as well as the Riverwood Festival on Saturday 23 October 2010.
Information Session – please join us for a free Community Breakfast and Information Session on Saturday 30 October. The Riverwood Communtiy centre will also be provided a free bbq breakfast.
Have your say – an online community consultation will be conducted in coming weeks.

Once the Concept Plan is finalised, it will be submitted to the Department of Planning and again placed on exhibition for community comment. Submissions can also be made to the Department of Planning during this period.
